My Philosophy

A doctors' philosophy of health care is very important. It is what drives, pushes and motivates them. It is at the core of how they treat a patient and why. I will list some of the primary philosophy's that my practice is based on:

adjusting a patient Adjusting a patient
  • The patient is Number One. I am committed to making sure every patient is heard and respected.
  • Finding the CAUSE of the pain: Patients spend a lifetime having doctors “treat” their ailments with various medications that usually cause even more problems, while the original condition continues to progress and get worse. I put every bit of experience I have into FINDING THE CAUSE of one's problem and FIXING it. Once the cause of a problem is found, it can either be fixed completely or, at least, improved dramatically without medications or drugs.
  • Our bodies desperately want to fix themselves: The essence of chiropractic is to put the body back into its original design, so that it can heal itself. Our creator gave our body natural ways to heal itself. Unfortunately, through injuries or repetitive stresses, our bones can get out of their normal alignment and muscles can get filled with scar tissue. The result is often pain, inflammation, nerve pressure and stiffness. In these situations, our bodies can't do what they are meant to do. As a chiropractor, I try to put the bones back in their original position and remove the abnormal scar tissue. When this is done, a body can heal itself in incredible ways and many people experience amazing results. But in reality, I am just helping the body do what it was always meant to do.
  • All patients deserve more than 5 minutes: I believe it is extremely hard to get to the cause of a chronic problem, and fix it, when you only spend a few minutes treating a patient. My goal is to ALWAYS spend adequate time with every patient on every visit using specific techniques to treat that condition. That EXTRA time can be the difference between truly getting better and just seeing small improvement.
  • Patients may be given “homework”: All patients greatly increase their chances of a full and quick recovery when they do home rehab. It may be as simple as proper icing after a treatment, or a more complex stretching routine. Either way, when a patient is given “homework” and actually follows-through with it, they will recover more quickly.
  • Every patient is unique and different: There are many, many things which cause one person's condition to be different than another: their age, their weight, the length of time they have had a problem, and the original cause of the problem. Because of this, every patient at Willis Chiropractic can be assured that their treatment is specifically tailor made to them and them alone. Also, every patient is re-evaluated on every visit to determine how best to treat them on that day.
  • Chiropractic should be affordable, so I have always kept my fees affordable and reasonable. There are never any hidden costs. I have an affordable first visit fee which includes exam, history, consultation and full treatment. Follow up visits are a standard reasonable fee. Please call for updated rates. All treatments usually involve some measure of myofascial release or muscle work to help remove scar tissue and keep the muscles loose and working right.
